A TSP Summer tour is in the works for June 3-6th! More details to be announced as soon as they are available. In the meantime, we need help promoting even if it is just a quick mention to your friends, or a blog post, or a status update. If you enjoy the music we are giving out for free, do us a favor, and spread the word! Thanks!
Thanks for seeing us at APU, merch online
Wow. We had a blast at the APU show with Johnny Strat, Freefire, and Theoria (from Azusa, CA). To our family and friends, thanks for the support! And a special thanks to Chris’ wife, Aimee, for running the merch table, James Taylor for taking some very cool photos of us during our set, and Casey from Theoria for inviting us.
The only thing we’re sorry about is our friends on the list who never made it. You missed some good times.
Now that our EP release show is behind us, you’re probably wondering about ordering a shirt and/or physical CD, right?
Give us a week or so to calculate the shipping cost, then we’ll offer them for purchase online. (If you’re interested in buying the shirt, physical CD, or both, leave a comment. Thanks!)

Defining our goals
I’m not in the frame of mind to discuss a topic in length, so I’m going to clarify a few of our goals within the next several months.
Until now, I imagine that every show we’ve played has been “in one ear, out the other.”
How can you say that?!
Other than an epic live show, we had nothing tangible that you could bring home and show your friends. We’re hopeful that Saturday’s show at APU will bring new fans since that’ll be our first show with shirts, CDs and stickers for sale. Afterward, we’ll analyze our stats and move from there.
Additionally, a few of us are reading suggestions from the book, “The Indie Band Survival Guide: The Complete Manual for the Do-It-Yourself Musician.” I think it has a lot of great ideas for creating buzz.
One of the basics I’m tackling is the website, which involves the following:
- creating a custom WordPress [child] theme that we can call our own
- adding information that we’ve overlooked or have yet to acquire (e.g. prospective bookers and venues, press kit, select photos, logos, posters, ways you can help us)
Don’t fret. We’re hard at work.
Coming up: We’re planning something pretty big in June. Well, it’s big for us. Bill will explain more in his next post.

The time sink of a pedalboard
I’m a little relieved that our last show got cancelled. I thought my effects setup (Line 6 Bass PODxt Live) was ready — it wasn’t.
A couple days before the show, I was setting up channels using Sennheiser earbuds as monitors rather than my bass amp. (I don’t have a smaller amp for outside the garage.)
At rehearsal, some channels sounded good with everyone else. Some didn’t.
When you listen to our songs, the crazy effects are from Bill. With this pedalboard, I hope to add some texture to my bass guitar.
But, I can’t get too excited. I need to set the noise gate, compressor, and EQ perfectly before I start experimenting.
I had a failsafe bank that I thought was good. That wasn’t the case, either. At least now I have some more time to find these quirks before our next show.
By the way, I ended up ordering Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphones rather than a small bass amp. That way, I won’t bug neighbors. Hopefully, they’ll help me perfect my sound so plugging into an amp is seamless. (Hopefully.)

Next show: Saturday, March 13, 2010 7pm at Azusa Pacific University (Azusa, CA)

they’re out there, I know it
For the sky pours out angels,
But we rarely see them here,
We’re blinded by the violence,
Perpetual wheel of fear.
One day a man asked me,
“Where do these angels go?”
“Do they hide away, alone?”
“Oh, You, of little knowledge”, I tell him,
“These angels are wearing people clothes…”
