Live video: Fairy Tale Fling

Hello friends!

We had a great time last night at Universal Bar & Grill. Bill’s new Budda amp sounded sweet, and Mike Kang really dug our new songs.

The new @scarletparadigm songs are bitchen. Great show tonite. You should go check em out.

After the show, several of us drove to a KogiBBQ truck and feasted. Nom.

Thanks for the support!

Oh, and before I forget, Mike recorded live video with his new Canon 5D Mark II! He recorded one of our new songs, Fairy Tale Fling, and uploaded it to YouTube at 3am this morning. (Standard resolution below or load the video in HD at YouTube.) Thanks Mike!

Universal Bar & Grill on May 22

We’ve booked another show for Saturday, May 22nd. We haven’t played at UBG since January 2009. From what I remember, the stage is tight and you’ll be really close to us. Intimate. Shenanigans.

Like our last show at APU, we’ll bring our merch again (CDs, T-shirts, stickers). We’re hoping to receive a Square Card Reader for Chris’ iPhone by then to take credit/debit card payments. If it doesn’t, I’ll update this post a couple days before the show.

If you’re looking for something to do before the show, or want to make a day out of it, Universal Studios (Hollywood) and Universal CityWalk are a few minutes from UBG.

When you’re done there, come and hang with us!

Please tell your friends through Facebook, Twitter, or email. Send them this link (http://wp.me/poDC1-7E). Or, copy and paste this into Twitter:

My favorite band, @scarletparadigm, has a show in Universal City on Saturday, May 22. Come and hang out! http://wp.me/poDC1-7E

  • Cost: $8 $7 (cover at the door, no presale tickets)

By the way, if you like going to live concerts, buy a pair of Hearos High Fidelity Ear Filters (Amazon affiliate link). They decrease the volume without muffling the sound. Since they’re washable, I’ve been using mine for several months.

Budda has come into my life

Bill sent this email to us:

Budda came into my room last night and told me to rock ['til] the end of time! He came in the form of the Budda Superdrive 18 Head. He told me to find my inner peace somewhere between 11 and 1 o’clock on the gain knob.

We might see this amp at a future show. :)

Site redesign

I finally simplified the website. Thanks to Thrice – their website was one of the main inspirations for keeping it simple. (Not too distant in second: money.)

Geeky details

I used Thematic WordPress Theme Framework and Street (Thematic child theme).

I removed all aside widgets and widened the content DIV (I think) so it’d be a single column.

Oh yeah, the header is an image with the same font as our logo. Finally.

Since the navigation bar is based on pages, the Redirection plugin for WordPress allows some of the blank pages to go to external sites. (Try music, RSS, and Twitter.)

And now, back to slappin da bass.
